San Francisco has a very diverse platform for both nail technicians and those seeking to get their nails done. I have jumped from shop to shop mostly in the Outer Mission and I’ll be highlighting one today.
The set you see to the left was done on January 28, 2019, at VN Skill Nails & Hair Salon on Onondaga Avenue. The work they do at VN Skill is really nice and thorough. Although I am rarely serviced by the same technician, I always leave happy because they continually check in with you and make you feel comfortable during the service.
Purple is a color I rely on often when I go to get my nails done because it can give off different tones with a simple change of pigment. Purple represents wealth, peace, creativity, and more. I gravitate toward purple as a reminder of what I want to keep for my life, but I can never leave without having some type of sparkle in the mix.

VN Skills Nails & Hair Salon is located at 25 Onondaga Ave, San Francisco, CA 94112. If you do plan on visiting, show up early or you will be waiting quite a while.

This fill-in was also done at VN Skills Nails & Hair Salon on July 26, 2018. At this time I was tired of my usual purple or all glitter set. So, I was on the hunt for something that was out of my norm, but I wanted to still have some fun with it. Yellow was the color I had my eye on due to it’s bold, eye-catching pigment but I was never brave enough to try it before that day.
I was inspired by a woman I followed on instagram at the time who had a similar set done to what you see on the right. However, I didn’t want to just copy her set, I wanted to make it my own. So, I chose to leave two nails mostly clear while adding a little something to my middle finger. (I always say, if you’re ever going to display the middle finger make sure there’s something nice to look at.)
